Ms. Gloria Jean Schultz, 70 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord on June 18, 2021. She was born in Alpena, Michigan on April 21, 1951 to the late, Lewis and F. Iola (Ealy) Schultz. Gloria grew up and resided in Atlanta all of her life. She was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Atlanta Chamber of Commerce. In the past, Gloria worked the auction at Elk Fest. She looked forward to it every year. She also wrote articles for the Montmorency Tribune and worked at the old video store in Atlanta. She enjoyed talking on the phone, photography, animals, and spending time with family. Most importantly, Gloria and her mom both cared for each other during times when they were ill. Gloria took care of her mom until her passing four years ago. The two are finally together again and are greatly missed.
Gloria is survived by her sister, Ruth (Tim) Olney of Leslie; niece, Kari (Jim) Olney of Rives Junction; nephew, Joshua (Amber) Schultz of East Lansing; niece, Barbara Schultz of East Lansing; nephew, Doug Reich of Bath, Michigan; five great-nieces; one great-nephew; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends; and Godmother, Dorothy Peterson of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and F. Iola Schultz; brother, Lewis Jr.
In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service held in celebration of Gloria's life at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 2:00 PM with visitation beginning at noon. Interment will take place at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Cemetery, Lewiston where Gloria will be laid to rest. The family has asked that those attending the service please wear pink in memory of Gloria. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Green Funeral Home to assist with funeral costs.
