Gerald Carl Wright Mr. Gerald Carl Wright, 77 of Atlanta, Michigan passed away on November 11, 2014 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. He was born to the late, Aylmer and Mary Katherine (Freese) Wright on July 17, 1937 in Hudson, Michigan. He was a proud veteran and served in the United States Navy. Gerald married wife, Janet (Mannor) Wright in Jackson on March 15, 1958 and together the couple celebrated 56 years of marriage before his passing. The couple moved to Atlanta over 20 years ago, formerly of the Brooklyn/Jackson area. Gerald was an outdoorsman. He loved anything outdoors; whether it was fishing, hunting, camping, mushroom picking, gardening, or woodworking. He enjoyed to polish rocks, specifically Petoskey stones and was known to give them away as gifts. Gerald was also a collector of coins and along with his wife, was a member of a stamp club in Petoskey. Above everything he did, family was his number one priority and he loved the time spent with them. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Janet Wright of Atlanta; daughter, Diane (John) Behrman of Onsted; sons, Joe Wright; Jeff (Debbie) Wright; Ben (Robyn) Wright all of Brooklyn; son, Greg (Kathy) Wright of Clark Lake; grandchildren; Phillip, Jessica, Katie, Jeri, Lynn, Keri, Tara, John Thomas, Jeffrey Jr, Chad, and Lucas; nine great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and sister, Lela (Clarence) Ven Epps of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Aylmer and Mary Wright; one sister; and three brothers. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at a later date.
