Gerald Stabnau

Gerald Albert Stabnau Mr. Gerald Albert Stabnau, 104, of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully on December 25, 2017 at Hillman Haven. He was born on November 10, 1913 in Dearborn, Michigan to the late, Otto and Olga (Leshner) Stabnau. Gerald has resided in Hillman for the past 50 years. He worked as a supervisor for Ford Motor Company and retired after 38 1/2 years. He was friends with Henry Ford and worked at Greenfield Village and on the Ford Farm as a youth. He loved to race and build midget cars and was always keeping himself busy. He also had a private pilots license and built and flew airplanes. Gerald will dearly be missed. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Stabnau of Hillman; son, Byron (Sue Dechert) Stabnau of Westland; daughter, Sandra (Gene) Hardie of Robertsdale, Alabama; grandchildren, Freddy and Nicki; two great-grandchildren; and brother, Floyd (Peggy) Stabnau of Belleville. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Olga Stabnau; brother, Harvey; and sisters, Edna Horton and Elsie Allen. There are currently no services planned for Mr. Stabnau at this time. Interment will take place at Woodmere Cemetery in Detroit.
