Gerald H. Pyle Gerald Henry Pyle, 85, of Lewiston, passed away at Otsego Memorial Hospital on April 8, 2010. He was born on March 1, 1925 to Robert and Casey Robinson in Lake City, MI. He married the former Helen Simon on June 11, 1939 in Yspilanti, MI. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as a chef for many years at the University of MI, then for the President of the University at his guest house for a few years. Once moving to Lewiston in 1966, he and his wife opened the Pyle Inn and ran that for a few years in Lewiston. He then worked at the Redwood Steak House for many years, retiring in 1988. He loved to mushroom hunt, and started the Lewiston Mushroom Club. He liked to hunt deer and fish. He was a past member of the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce and the Curling Club. Gerald is survived by his wife, Helen of Lewiston, MI; son Randy (Dotti) Pyle of Lewiston; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Tom, and step daughter, Judith Orm. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services for Mr Pyle planned at this time.
