Gerald (Jerry) Glen McCormick Mr. Gerald (Jerry) Glen McCormick, 78 of Atlanta, Michigan passed away on September 13, 2012 at Dekalb Medical Center in Dekatur, Georgia. He was born on August 13, 2012 to Walter and Bernice (Barden)McCormick in Otisville, MI. He grew up and lived in the Otisville and Millington area until he retired at a young age after thirty years at Fisher Body. He then moved to his beloved Atlanta. He was a member of the Atlanta Eagles and a long-time member of the UAW Local 581. In Atlanta, he spent his time hunting, not only all types of games; but also morels and puddin' stones. He also enjoyed to fish, trap, bird watch, and garden. Gerald was a fun loving and ornery Irishman who loved music, singing, and playing his ukulele and his drums. Most of all, he loved being "up north." He will be missed greatly by all that were blessed to know him. He is survived by his three children, Mickolyn (Michael) O'Reilly, Glenn McCormick; James (Noelle) McCormick, five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his always present puppy, Cocoa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bernice; and loving wife of forty-nine years, Ruth (Blake) McCormick. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life on October 13, 2012, at 2:00 PM at his residence.
He is survived by his three children, Mickolyn (Michael) O'Reilly, Glenn McCormick; James (Noelle) McCormick, five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and his always present puppy, Cocoa. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Bernice; and loving wife of forty-nine years, Ruth (Blake) McCormick.
As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life on October 13, 2012, at 2:00 PM at his residence.
