George F. Orlandi Memorial services for George F. Orlandi will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 24, from Calvary Episcopal Church in Hillman with Fr. Gerald Rehagen officiating. Inurnment will be in Hillman-Rust Township Cemetery. A luncheon will follow the service in the Calvary Church Fellowship Hall. Mr. Orlandi, 78 of Hillman passed away May 23, 2006 at his residence, following an extended illness. George was born May 8, 1928 in Detroit, MI the son of Americo and Gertrude (Davis) Orlandi. He owned and operated Orlandi Manufacturing for many years and later worked for the Cummings Engine before retiring from Capital Plastics in 1993. George was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Gaylord, a member and past treasurer of the Lake Avalon Association, Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Lions Club or Fostoria, OH and Farmington and the Elks Lodge in Fostoria. He and his wife, Ellen, whom he married September 17, 1949 in Kalamazoo, MI, retired to Hillman in 1995 from Fostoria, OH. George also assembled a book entitled "A Christian Welcome" that covered Atlanta, Hillman and Lachine and was a directory for new families in the area. George is survived by his wife, Ellen; son, Stephen (Cindy) Orlandi of Hillman; daughter Julia Orlandi of Westland, MI; for grandchildren; brother, Ralph (Mary Ellen) Orlandi of Brighton, MI; and sisters, Elsie Whitney of Southfield, MI and Norma (William) Kile of Ft. Gratiot, MI.
