George Mattison

George Robert Mattison George Robert Mattison, 92, of Lewiston, MI, passed away on December 13, 2013 in Hillman, MI. He was born on to Victor and Dora (Smith) Mattison in Melvin, MI on March 1, 1921. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Bob married the former Edna Newell on April 21, 1949 in Detroit, MI. He has lived in Lewiston since 1978 formerly of Detroit, where he worked for 30 years at Cadillac Motors Parts Division. He attended the Congregation of the United Church of Christ in Lewiston. In his younger years, he enjoyed to dance. He was a car nut, he truly loved cars, Bob knew all about the new cars coming out, the old ones, and even collected car posters. Bob is survived by his wife, Edna; sons, Charles (Debbie) Mattison of Plymouth, MI, and Bruce (Julie) Mattison of South Lyon, MI; grandchildren, Charles Jr, Andy, and Johnny; and great granddaughter, Kelly. He was preceded in death by brothers, Olin and Roy. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, December 16, 2013 at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Lewiston, Michigan; Pastor Dave Engel officiating. Interment will take place in the Spring at Albert Twp Cemetery.
