Gary Mckenzie

Gary Ernest McKenzie Mr. Gary Ernest McKenzie, 71 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena on August 27, 2018. He was born in Hillman Township to the late, Benjamin and Hazel Jane (Near) McKenzie on August 19, 1947. Gary moved to Hillman where he was born and raised and spent the last 25 years there, formerly of Otsego. He did roofing for many years and was the owner and operator of Gem Roofing in Kalamazoo. Aside from work, Gary enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his daughter, Rachel McKenzie of Allegan; grandson, Blain McKenzie-Potter of Normangee, Texas; and sister, Shirley Jacobs of Fraser. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Hazel McKenzie; son, Benjamin Patrick; and sisters, Rachel McKenzie and Barbara McKenzie. As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there are currently no services scheduled for Mr. McKenzie at this time.
