Gary Marquardt

Gary Lee Marquardt Mr. Gary Lee Marquardt, 58 of Hillman, Michigan left on January 9, 2014 for his next journey. He died at home surrounded by his family. Gary was born in Bay City, Michigan to Ronald and Janice (Badgero) Marquardt on August 8, 1955. He graduated from Hillman High School in 1973. Gary married, Denise LaFleche on August 9, 1986. They made their home in Hillman. Gary was employed for several years by Ken Cordes Excavating and most recently by Team Elmers. He also was manager for Clear View Car Wash of Hillman, accepting the Business of the Year Award for Wayne Kowalski in October from Hillman Chamber of Commerce. Gary is survived by his wife, Denise Marquardt of Hillman; mother, Janice Brown of Dundedin, Florida; brothers, Ronald (Robin) Marquardt; Daniel (Marsha) Marquardt both of Hillman; Thomas (Paula) Marquardt of Troy; Gerald (Mary) Largo of Florida; Marty (Rosita) Brown of Bremerton, West Virginia; sister, Michelle (Dave) Courtney of Avon, Colorado; father and mother-in-law, Albert (Marjean) LaFleche; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Adam; father, Ronald; stepfather, Francis Brown; brother, Francis Brown; uncle, Paul Marquardt; and nephew, Scott Marquardt. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of Gary's life held at 1:00PM on Monday, January 13, 2014 at the Hillman Community Center; Hillman; MI; Marsha Marquardt officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00AM until time of service.
