Garfield Gene Meyer Mr. Garfield Gene Meyer, 83 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away on August 30, 2013 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. He was born to the late, John and Flossie (Kopeflburger) Meyer in Flint, Michigan on November 17, 1929. He served his country in the United States Army and was a World War II vet. He worked for General Motors for 30 years. Garfield was a member of the American Legion Post 198, VFW Post 6335, and the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, where he enjoyed singing choir. He liked to bowl and golf and played on leagues for both. Above everything he enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He leaves behind son, Frederick Meyer of Flint; daughter, Janet Legutko of Lewiston; grandsons, John Meyer of Flint; Chad (Amanda Miller) Neiser of Washington State; Andrew Legutko of Davison; Joseph Tanguay of Tennessee; granddaughters, Jamie (Matt Peterson) Legutko of Nevada; Stacy Tanguay of Flint; two great-granddaughters, Macy and Selah Neiser; three great-grandsons, Ethan and Aidan Peterson; and Joseph Tanguay IV. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Flossie Meyer; wife, Marian Meyer; daughter, Diane Pritchad; son, Robert Meyer; and son-in-law, James Legutko. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at Albert Township Cemetery.
