Frederick Ralph Alexander Frederick Ralph Alexander, 68, of Lewiston passed away on March 20, 2009 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey after a long fight with Leukemia. Fred was born on July 18, 1940 to Hera Mae Alexander in Redford, Michigan. He married Shirley Ann Griffore on January 20, 1962 in Redford Township. He worked for Kelsey Hayes for 32 years before retiring in 1991 and moving to Lewiston, Michigan. He was a Catholic high school football coach for over 30 years and a former Marine who was extremely proud of his country. Fred loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman. and golfer. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Fred is survived by his wife Shirley, of Lewiston; son, Scott Alexander (Michele) of Farmington Hills; daughter, Michelle Alexander of Dearborn; grandchildren, Emily, Austin, and Parker; brothers Chet Alexander (Debbie) of Evanston, Wyoming and Al Alexander (Joyce) of Macomb Township. He is preceded in death by his mother, Hera Mae. As were his wishes, cremation and a private service with close family and friends will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lukemia Organization.
