Florine Mansfield

Florine Cassie Mansfield Ms. Florine Cassie Mansfield, 87, of Hillman, Michigan passed away on March 12, 2013 at Hillman's Haven. She was born to the late Floyd C. and Mathilde B. (Hildebrandte) Mansfield on June 24, 1925 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. She has lived in Hillman since 2001 and formerly in Atlanta. Florine taught school for 50 years between public and church schools. She graduated from Carthage College with a Bachelors degree in music, and then earned a double Bachelor's degree from the New York Theological Seminary. She later received a teaching certificate from the University of Michigan and continued work towards her doctorate. She played the organ and guitar, and enjoyed music, people and oil painting. She dedicated her life to doing good works for church. Florine will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by niece, Nita (Nick) Stanek of Dubuque, Iowa; nephew, Brian Hahn of Avoca, Wisconsin; and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her sister, Nina Hahn. Funeral services for Ms. Mansfield will be held at 1:00PM on Friday, March 22, 2013 at the New Beginnings Church, Hillman, Michigan, Rev. Dave Hill officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00AM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Hillman/Rust Township Cemetery in the Spring.
