Eula (Pennie) Render Eula (Pennie) Render, born December 25, 1920 to John and Nettie Murphy of Milford, MI, passed away on November 18, 2011. Pennie attended beauty school in Pontiac where she met her true and only love, F.E. (Ed) Render, whom she married on August 16, 1941, after a two-week courtship. They celebrated many happy years together, vacationing in Lewiston since 1958, and camping at other favorite Michigan spots with their children and good friends, the Lownds family. They built their vacation home in Lewiston in 1962, and purchased the Redwood Steak House in 1967, where Pennie was the chief "dessert baker and salad dressing maker." Pennie also made numerous home-baked and hand decorated cakes for special occasions for many family members and friends. In 1973, Ed and Pennie moved to Lewiston where they both became active in the Lewiston Lions and Lioness clubs, to which they were very devoted, with Pennie being one of few to be presented with a medal for perfect attendance. They fully enjoyed their years in Lewiston together until Ed's passing in January of 1995. Pennie was an avid deer hunter, bagging at least seven bucks, and loved to play cards, especially "Spite & Malice," and especially when she won. She was also very loved by many in Lewiston for her special Halloween "pumpkin" cookies and kindness to children. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Ed, daughter Pamela and grandson Darren. She is survived by her sons, Curtis (Nancy) Render, Tommee (Wendy) Render and Eddy (Lori) Render; nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, as well as her faithful companion Tippy. A funeral service for Pennie was held at Green Funeral Home on November 22, and was attended by many loving family members and friends. Arrangements were entrusted to the Green Funeral Home. Condolence messages can be sent via our website, www.greenfuneralhomes.com. Memorial contributions in Pennie's honor may be made to the Lewiston Lioness organization or Hospice of Northern Michigan (Gaylord Chapter).
