Eugene Agren

October 30, 1927 — September 7, 2012

Eugene (Bill) Erick Agren Mr. Eugene (Bill) Erick Agren, 84 of Lewiston, Michigan passed away on September 7, 2012 at Aspen Ridge Nursing Home in Gaylord. He was born to the late Erik and Edith (Hermanson) Agren in Lake Forest, Illinois on October 30, 1927. He married his loving wife, Marjorie (Walker) Agren on February 12, 1949 in Lewiston. After getting married the couple moved to Oregon where he was a manager at a department store for a few years before returning to Lewiston where he worked for Walter and Heine Construction. He then went into business for himself in the logging industry and started Agren & Sons Forest Products for many years and then continued to work driving milk truck and later on drove for Michigan CAT. Bill attended the Lewiston Congregational United Church of Christ and was a member of the Lewiston Historical Society. He loved to play music and played for Talley's for seventeen years in different bands. He also worked with the elementary and middle school kids teaching them to play guitar. In his free time, he liked to hunt and fish. Above all, he enjoyed his time spent with family and friends and he loved to watch his children, as well as grandchildren grow up and play sports. He will be missed dearly by all who knew him. He is survived by wife of sixty-three years, Marjorie Agren of Lewiston; sons, Doug (Sharon) Agren; David (Pam) Agren; Thomas Agren all of Lewiston; ten grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine (Richard) Valentine of Atlanta; Ella Snyder of Morristown, TN; daughter-in-law, Jane Agren of Cadillac; and son-in-law, Gerald Willobee of Trout Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents, Erik and Edith Agren; son, James Agren; daughters, Pamela Agren and Joni Willobee. Funeral services for Mr. Agren will be held on Monday, September 10, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the Congregational United Church of Christ, Lewiston, MI, Pastors Keith and Ginny Titus officiating. Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 9, 2012 from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Green Funeral Home; Lewiston, MI. In lieu of flowers the family has suggested memorials be made to Mercy Hospice of Grayling
