Ervin Theis

Ervin "Jack" Theis Ervin "Jack" Theis, 86, of Lewiston, MI, passed away on December 27, 2010 at Tendercare Gaylord. He was born on December 2, 1924 to Peter and Elsie (Kolver) Theis in Taylor, MI. He married the former Julia Smith on June 17, 21944 in Taylor, MI. Jack has lived in Lewiston for the past thirty years, but has vacationed here since the 1940's. He was worked as an engineer in construction for many years, and farmed as a young man. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324 in Detroit. He enjoyed his tractors and planting his garden on the hill every year. Jack like to cut wood, and liked to take care of his yard. Above all else, he enjoyed time spent with family, especially times out in the barn. Jack is survived by his wife, Julia of Lewiston, MI; daughters, Sandra (Marty) Benson of Bloomfield Hills, MI, Cynthia (Rick) Good of Taylor, MI, and Jackie (Bill) Litogot of Taylor, MI; 4 grandchildren; and 2 great grandchildren, with one on the way. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial gathering was held for Mr Theis at his home on Wednesday, December 29, 2010. Arrangements were entrusted to the Green Funeral Home.
