Mrs. Erma Lewis, 96 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at her home surrounded by her loved ones on the early morning of July 11, 2020. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on September 19, 1923 to the late, William and Agnes Heine. Erma has resided in Lewiston since 1950 where both her and her late husband, William, built their home. Together they also built and owned and operated Sheridan Valley Motel for 30+ years. She was very active in her church and attended the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Lewiston. Erma was a very hard worker and took care of her family since the age of 10. When she wasn't working, she enjoyed gardening and her flowers. She will be dearly missed.
Erma is survived by her son, William (Colleen) Lewis Jr of Lewiston; granddaughters, Renee Benoit of Spencer, Massachusetts; Dawn (Jim) North of West Brookfield, Massachusetts; great-grandchildren, Michelle Lewis, Brandon Benoit both of Spencer, Massachusetts; Megan North of West Brookfield, Massachusetts; and step great-granddaughter, Ashley Santos of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Agnes Heine; husband, William Lewis Sr; sister, Norma Forrest; and brother, William Heine.
Mrs. Lewis will be laid to rest at Albert Township Cemetery on Friday, July 17, 2020. A memorial will be held in celebration of her life at a later date.
