Emma Dice

Emma Rose Dice Emma Rose Dice, 88, of Hillman, passed away on Friday, August 8, 2008 at Medilodge Nursing Home in Hillman. She was born on August 20, 1919 to Miles and Gladys (Abbe) Carter in Rust Twp, MI. She married John Dice on May 20, 1944 at the old Rust Church. She lived in the Rust Twp area all of her life. She was a past member of the Rust Brethren of Christ Church, and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 2356, and the Hillman Sr Citizens. She enjoyed playing board games, especially Aggrivation, card games, and doing word searches. She liked to take trips to the casino when she was able. Above all else, she loved raising her 8 chidren and spending time with her grandchildren. Emma is survived by her sons, Bill (Terri) of Phoenix, AZ, Russell (Linda) of Hillman, MI, and John "Sam" (Linda) of Atlanta, MI; daughters, Dorothy (Norman) Youngski of Sterling Heights, MI, Mary (Ken) Chersack of Atlanta, MI, Marlene (Bruce) Marchlewski of Tallahassee, FL, Lillian (Pat) Klein of Hillman, MI, and Debbie Peavey of Garden City, MI; 24 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brothers, Ben (Annabelle) Carter of Hillman, Lynn (Sharon) Carter of Bretheren, MI, and Lyle (Bonnie) Carter of Comins, MI; and sisters, Dorothy Sharp of Hillman and Lorna (Kenneth) Cameron of Flint, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and sisters, Arlene Laurette and Thelma Wales. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 11, 2008 at 11:00 AM, at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI, Pastor Larry Kirby officiating. Interment will take place at the Hillman/Rust Twp Cemetery.
