Emma M. Bagero Emma M. Bagero age 95 of Hillman went to her Heavenly Home on Tuesday Nov. 3, 2009 wither loving family by her side. Emma was born on Sept 5, 1914 to the late Rudolph and Helena (Henrich) Bahrke of Royston. She married Guy A. Badgero on Dec 17, 1932. He preceded her in death on July 7,1993. She was a loving, caring hard working wife and mother. Emma dedicated her life in caring for her family and her home. Emma worked as a young women at the Fireside Resort at Grand Lake and held various cleaning jobs Cottages, homes, and businesses in the Hillman area and Phelps Collins A.N.G. Base in Alpena where she retired. Emma was known as the cookie Grandma to all that stopped by. The young and the older always enjoyed her Homemade Baked Goods. She also loved to make Quilts and Crocheting and playing cards. She was a Life Long Member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. Emma is survived by her three daughter Janice Marquardt Brown of Dunedin, Fla and Eleanor (Bert) Sumerix of Lachine, MI and Sheryl Talley of Hillman and a sister Selma Vanderveer of Hillman. Also 12 Grandchildren, Ron (Robin) Marquardt, Dan (Marsha) Marquardt, Gary (Denise) Marquardt all of Hillman, Tom (Paula) Marquardt of Troy and Gerald (Mary) Marquardt of Largo, Fla. Michelle (David) Courtney of Vail, CO, Marty (Ceta) Brown of Bremercon, WA. Connie (Joe) Cook and Larry Sumerix of Lachine and Ivan (Barbara) Sumerix of Alpena and Carrie (Richard) Pratchard of Hot Springs, Ark. and Kalie (Chris) Smith of Hillman. 29 Great Grandchildren and 9 Great Great Grandchildren. Many Nieces and Nephews and Friends. Emma was preceded in death by 3 son in laws, Ron Marquardt, Frank Brown, and Dewey Talley, a grandson Frances Brown and 2 Great Grandsons, Scott and Adam Marquardt. 3 Sisters Nora Stienke, Hannah Schalk and Hulda Blossey and a special sister In law Emma Bahrke; and brothers, Paul, Walter, Erik, Herbert, and Herman Bahrke. Funeral services for Mrs Badgero will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2009 at 11:00 AM at St Johns Lutheran Church in Royston, Pastor Jason Mandley officiating. Interment will take place at Hillman Rust Twp Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held at the church on Friday from 2-9 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM, and will continue Saturday morning from 10:00AM until time of service. The family has suggested memorials to Hospice of Michigan, Alpena, or to St Johns Lutheran Church.
