Elizabeth N. Ranger Elizabeth N. Ranger, 92, of Hillman, passed away on January 14, 2009 at Medilodge Nursing Home in Hillman. She was born on July 14, 1916 to Frank and Nellie (Gilbert) Besemer in Onaway, MI. She graduated from Onaway High School and attended county normal there as well. She spent most of her life in the Hillman Area. She worked for the United States Department of Agriculture for 14 years, and was a life member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 2356 in Hillman for over 50 years, serving as president and various other offices for the auxiliary. She also helped her husband, Orson, operate their business, Ranger Insurance Agency. She was a member of St Augustine Catholic Church. Elizabeth is survived by her two sons, Frank (Carol) Ranger of Kauai, HI and John (Elaine) Ranger of Spring City, UT; two daughters, Judy Ranger Livingston of Gaylord, MI, and Linda (David) Burrows of Rochester, NY; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and nephew, Basis (Lou) Nichols of Hillman. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orson; parents, Gilbert and Nellie Besemer; and two brothers, Gilbert and Gordon. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Mrs Ranger will be held in the Spring.
