Eleanor Braun

Mrs. Eleanor Phyllis Braun, 97 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw on April 16, 2020. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 15, 1923 to the late, Herman and Hilda (Miller) Gerstenschlager. She married her husband, William Braun, on April 5, 1944 and together the couple celebrated 53 years of marriage before William's passing in 1997. Formerly of Detroit, the couple moved to Lewiston permanently in 1978. Eleanor was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church and enjoyed participating in church activities. She also loved to crochet and quilt. She will be dearly missed.

Eleanor is survived by her son, Karl Braun of Flushing; sister, Shirley Schuknecht of Brooksville, Florida; daughter-in-law, Cathy Braun of Livonia; grandchildren, Kirk (Cary) Braun of Clio, Sarah Braun, Brian (Carri) Braun both of Commerce Township; and great-grandchildren, Camden and McKinley Braun of Commerce Township; sister-in-law, Dorie Armstrong of Lewiston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Hilda Gerstenschlager; husband, William; son, Ron; and daughter-in-law, Kaye Braun.

A private graveside service will be held for Mrs. Braun on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at Albert Township Cemetery, Lewiston.
