Eileen Hunter

Mrs. Eileen Marie Hunter, 92 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully on the early morning of December 9, 2019 at The Brook Retirement Home of Gaylord. She was surrounded by love when she took her last breath and welcomed into Heaven with open arms by her husband, Dennis, who preceded her in death in 2010. Eileen was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan on April 22, 1927 to the late, Arlay and Lillian (Krumrie) Roberts. She graduated from Yale High School and soon began working. She worked in Imlay City at Glassford's Market, in Capac at Capac Plastics doing molding, and at the AuSable Valley Nursing Home in Fairview where she worked as a nurse's aide from 1987-1992. She worked alongside her husband, Dennis, as the deputy township clerk of Albert Township from 1985-1998. She was a hard worker and a strong woman. She had a sweet disposition that was welcomed by everyone that met her and knew her. She was a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved genealogy and worked endlessly finding information on her family and extended family. She loved the fresh air of the outdoors and watching the birds from her window. She enjoyed gardening and flowers and had a deep love for animals. She could often be found sitting comfortably in her chair with a smile on her face reading the weekly paper or working on a word search puzzle. She loved to quilt when she was able and made many beautiful quilts over the years. Her biggest pride and joy was her granddaughter, Aliviah. She was always teaching her new things and imparting her wisdom and infectious sense of humor in Aliviah during the vast hours they spent together. Family and her grandchildren were very, very important to her and she valued all the time she was able to spend with them. She will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her sons, Vaughn (Ingrid) Glassford of Lapeer; Eric (Elizabeth) Hunter of Gaylord; grandchildren, Aliviah, Addison, Jimmy, Aaron, and Maddy; brother, Clayton Roberts of Port Huron; and daughter-in-law, Norma Deaton of North Branch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlay and Lillian Roberts; husbands, Stan Glassford and Dennis Hunter; son, Gary; siblings, Glenford, Ralph, Junita, Coleen; and sister-in-law, Marie.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hunter will take place at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Green Funeral Home, Lewiston; Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place from noon until time of service.
