Mrs. Edith May Roach, 86 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully on April 18, 2020 at Munson Healthcare Grayling Hospital. She was born on May 4, 1933 in Loud Township, Michigan to the late, Joseph and Laura (LaLone) Kamen. She attended Esch School which was later named Beauregard School, and then graduated from Atlanta High School in 1951. She received an Associate's degree from Bay City Business School and attended Alpena Community College in her 50's for medical terminology where she obtained a 4.0 GPA. She worked in clerical services for Yeo Yeo CPA's in Marlette and managed Jensen Kelly Insurance Agency for a few years, as well as with Joe Mills Attorney. She also assisted the pharmacist in Lewiston for six years. She retired from Otsego Memorial Hospital where she worked as a unit clerk. Aside from her work, Edith was a member of the First Baptist Church in Lewiston. She used to love reading, sewing, and working outside in her yard. She will be dearly missed.
Edith is survived by her son, Brad (Pam) Fulkerson of Atlanta; daughters, Christine (John) Bloom of Allendale; Joyce (Jerry) Forbes of Bushnell, Florida; Debra (Garry) Cole of Manistee; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy (Rose) Kamen of Atlanta; William Kamen of Fairview; sisters, Kathleen (Robert) Brooks of Atlanta; Helen (James) Britton of Big Rapids; and Shirley Roberts of Higgins Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Laura Kamen; son, Herbert Fulkerson; sister, Dorothy Squires; and brother, Ralph Kamen.
A private graveside service will take place for Edith on Monday, April 20, 2020 at Loud Township Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
