Dorothy I Cook died peacefully at home with family. She’s preceded in death by her youngest child, James Cook II and her beloved husband, James Cook; and sisters, Peggy and Margaret. Dottie delighted in spending time with family, in fact she held many family reunions. She enjoyed the outdoors in many ways: gardening, bee keeping and chickens too! Hunting, fishing and traveling with the love of her life Jim were some of her favorite past times. Dorothy received her cosmetology license, did most of the family’s hair, and pierced everyone’s ears too! Dottie embraced her Native American heritage; attending Pow Wow’s and teaching indigenous crafting. She made many of us dream catchers and loved drumming.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Angela (Reese), Tammie (Fred), Sheila, Bill (Nicki), Christine (Eddie); siblings, Edward (Karen), and Mary and Raymond. She was loved by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
There will be a family and friends Celebration of Life for Dottie on September 21, 2024 in Atlanta, Michigan. Please contact family for details.
