Doris Pauline Savage-Burris Mrs. Doris Pauline Savage-Burris, 83 of Gaylord, formerly of Atlanta, died peacefully on November 27, 2017 at The Brook of Gaylord. She was born on August 5, 1934 in Mount Morris, Michigan to the late, Frederic and Margaret (Wieble) Savage. Doris worked as an administrator in the both the athletic and veterinarian departments at Michigan State University where she retired after 25+ years. She attended the Big Rock Congregational Church in Atlanta and enjoyed a vast array of hobbies. She liked basket weaving-even teaching some classes. She enjoyed gardening and landscaping, and loved to shop. Doris was an avid reader and liked to solve crosswords and play cards, especially pinochle. Aside from her hobbies, she enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sons, Dan (Amelia) Stevens of Rumely; Charles Stevens of Cadillac; daughter, Dawn Lee of Savannah, Georgia; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and brother, Don (Sally) Savage of Atlanta. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederic and Margaret Savage; husband, James; and sister, Shirley Valley. As were her wishes cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held in celebration of her life at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Green Funeral Home; Atlanta. Visitation will take place from 1:00 PM until time of service. .
