Donna Edwards

Donna Irene Edwards Mrs. Donna Irene Edwards, 91 of Atlanta, Michigan passed away on September 27, 2014 at her home. She was born on October 29, 1922 in Manistique, Michigan to the late, Frederick and Carrie (Whiting) DeFord. On May 4, 1949 she married husband, Frank Edwards and together they celebrated 46 years of marriage before his passing in 1995. Donna retired from the United States Postal Service after 23 years of being a distribution/window clerk in Atlanta. She also worked as a secretary at the old Standard Station. Donna had many hobbies and enjoyed a variety of activities such as, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, reading, watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, spending time outside in her yard, watching birds, and time spent with her dog, "Bubs." Above everything, Donna enjoyed her time spent with her family and friends and will be dearly missed. She is survived by daughters, Marilyn (Robert) Askelin of Fairbanks, Alaska; Beverly Edwards of Atlanta; Gloria (Steve) Englehart of Atlanta; Patti Edwards of Atlanta; granddaughter, Jill (Robert) Baur of Gaylord; grandson, Andy Englehart of Alpena; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Carrie DeFord; husband, Stewart Frank Edwards; a newborn son; and brothers, Douglas, Ivan, and Howard DeFord. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services scheduled for Mrs. Edwards at this time.
