Donald Albert Kalie Donald Albert Kalie, 77, of Lewiston, MI passed away on January 5, 2012 at Hearth and Home Hospice in Dayton, OH. He was born on December 8, 1934 to Albert and Lucille (Cameron) Kalie in Detroit, MI. Don retired from Ford Motor Co after 33 yrs of service, in retirement, he went back to work at Ford teaching the apprenticeship program. He has lived in Lewiston since 1987, and had vacationed there most of his life. He was an active member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church when he was able. He served his country in the US Navy reserves for 18 yrs. He enjoyed golfing, snowmobiling, bowling, and used to hunt as well. He was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the NRA over the years. He was also an avid reader, especially books about war and history. Donald is survived by his son, Donald (Lisa) Kalie of Milford, MI; daughter, Susan (Mike) Thein of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Jennifer, Jordan, and Evan; sister Catherine DeOrio of Wayside, NJ; and brother, Jon Kalie of Dearborn, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverley in 2010. Funeral services for Mr Kalie will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lewiston, MI, Rev Steven Thiel officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Lewiston, and again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church. Memorials have been suggested to Hospice of Dayton, OH, 324 Wilmington Ave, Dayton, OH 45420, or to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Lewiston, MI.
