Delores Ann Smith Mrs. Delores Ann Smith, 71, of Lewiston, MI, passed away on Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. She was born on March 26, 1941 to Lewis and Loretta (Schwachenwald) Thomas in Toledo, OH. She married John "Jack" Smith on May 5, 1962 in Toledo, OH. She was a member of St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Lewiston. Delores worked as a legal secretary for over 15 years. She always enjoyed fishing with her husband. The two even owned and operated Superior Bait Shop in Toledo for 10 years. Delores is survived by her sons, John Jr (Tina), and Tim, both of Toledo, OH; daughters, Patty (Chuck) VanDorn of Statesville, NC, Catherine Ruiz of Toledo, Ohio; and Jennifer (Charles) Smith of Grand Rapids, OH; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brothers, Tom and Robert Thomas and a sister-in-law, Evelyn Thomas, all of Oregon, OH. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack, and a brother, Louis Thomas. Mass of Christian Burial was held on August 28 at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Lewiston, MI. Interment will take place at St Francis Catholic Cemetery. The family has suggested memorials to Our Lady of Toledo Shrine, 655 S Coy Road, Oregon, OH 43616.
