Delbert Thomas Curio Mr. Delbert Thomas Curio, 59 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully surrounded by loved ones on February 5, 2018 at Hiland Cottage in Petoskey. He was born in Dearborn, Michigan on June 12, 1958 to Rinaldo and Janet (Reich) Curio. He has resided in Lewiston for the past 30+ years, formerly of Livonia. In Grayling, Michigan on October 23, 2010 he married his wife, Brandi (Mertz) Curio and together the couple celebrated 7 years of marriage before his passing. Del owned and operated D&D Welding in Lewiston for many years before retiring in 2014. He was a member of the Wellington Farm Park in Grayling, the Midwest Threshers, and various steam engine groups. He had a passion for steam engines and loved his 1912 Frick tractor. He also owned a homemade engine that was built by his grandfather. Del loved motorcycles of all sorts and even enjoyed ice racing with studded tires. When working with his hands, he enjoyed to put together model cars, RC cars, and helicopters. He was a family man and loved time spent with his grandchildren and dog, Festus. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife, Brandi Curio of Lewiston; son, Delbert (Vanessa) Curio of Cedar Hill, Texas; daughter, Jeannie (Christian) Little of Brownstown; stepson, Andrew Hart of Lewiston; grandchildren, Tyler, Zoe, Addison, and Xander; mother, Janet Curio of Woodhaven; brother-in-law, Robert Mertz of Port Huron; sister-in-laws, Debra Mertz of Marysville; Cathie (Dan) Langolf of Port Huron; Lisa (Jim) Rankin; and Amy (Jim) Freiger both of Port Huron. He was preceded in death by his father, Rinaldo Curio; and granddaughter, Michelle. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at a later date.
