David James Johnston David James Johnston, 70, of Lewiston, MI, passed away on Sunday, June 14, 2009 at Otsego Memorial Hospital. He was born on February 10, 1939 to Cecil and Annabelle (Kilpatrick) Johnston. He married the former Margaret Malinowski on November 5, 1960 in Detroit, MI. David served his country in the US Army and was a member of the VFW Post 345 in Redford, MI, and the American Legion Post 198 in Lewiston. He retired to Lewiston permanently in 2002, owning property and vacationing here for years prior. He worked as a mill wright at various factories in the Detroit area for many years. He enjoyed camping and watching car racing on television. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed being home out in the woods. David is survived by his wife, Margaret of Lewiston; sons, Gary (Carol) of Dearborn Heights, MI, and Jonathan (Debra) of Westland, MI; daughter, Kristin (William) Candelario of Warren, MI; 7 grandchidlren; sister, Cecilia Gulet of Lincoln Park, MI; and two brothers, Ronald (Angela) of Grand Rapids, MI, and Mark (Susan) of Brownstown, MI. There will be a memorial service held for Mr Johnston at a later date downstate.
