David Cordes Sr.

David Arthur Cordes, Sr. Mr. David Arthur Cordes Sr, 65 of Hillman, Michigan died suddenly on December 19, 2015. He was born to the late, Arthur and Rosalie (Edgar) Cordes on February 2, 1950 in Alpena, Michigan. He was raised in Hillman and graduated from Hillman High School in 1968. He then went on to serve his country proudly in the United States Army during the Vietnam war. David was a member of the Moose Lodge in Alpena, VFW Post #2356 of Hillman, and St. John's Lutheran Church of Royston. He was an avid card player and enjoyed euchre and poker, as well as casino trips. David also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his sons, Dave (Sherri) Cordes of Edwardsville, Pennsylvania; Kevin Cordes of Ashley, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Cassandra; Cayla; Cody; and Kevin; great-granddaughter, Addisyn; sisters, Connie Williams of Hillman; and Peggy (Ken) Parent of Hillman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Rosalie Cordes; brothers Billy and John; and a sister, Suzanne Finley. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of his life at 11:00AM on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the VFW Hall, Hillman; Pastor Jason Mandley officiating.
