Mr. Dalton DeVere Duff, 87 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully surrounded by loved ones at AuSable Valley Community Home in Fairview on the evening of December 27, 2019. He was born in Boyne Falls, Michigan on February 20, 1932 to the late, Martin and Alice (Bunn) Duff. Dalton has resided in Atlanta since 1985, formerly of Flint. He retired from General Motors after working for 32 years at the Swartz Creek GM Plant. He married his wife, Zelda Mae (Wingo) Duff in Elmira, Michigan on November 1, 1952 and they remained together until her passing in 2004. Dalton was a member of the Atlanta Eagles and had a variety of hobbies. He used to enjoy bowling, playing shuffleboard, and participating in horseshoe leagues. He also enjoyed deer hunting, gardening, and was an avid sports fan of the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Lions. He will be dearly missed by all of his family and friends.
Dalton is survived by his son, Bill (Cindy Barlow) Duff of Oscoda; daughters, Diane Cannoy of Akron; Carla (Mike) Babb of Mt. Morris; Kathy (Kevin) Cannon of Davison; Laura (Jason) Jones of Atlanta; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brothers, Dean (Karen) Duff; and Tom (Diane) Duff both of Sterling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Alice Duff; wife, Zelda; grandson, Jake Cannon; brothers, Bob, Jim, and Dan; sisters, Barbara Jenson and Blanche Kurtz.
Funeral services for Mr. Duff will take place at 1:00 PM on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Green Funeral Home, Atlanta; Pastor Dave Fisher officiating. Visitation will take place from 11:00 AM until time of service. Interment will take place at Briley Township Cemetery, Atlanta in the Spring.
