Mr. Dalton “Ed” Edwin Curtis, 95 of Lewiston, Michigan died peacefully at MediLodge of Gaylord on the afternoon of December 22, 2021. He was welcomed into Heaven with open arms by his wife, Lorraine; son, Eddy; and other extended family. Ed was born in Winston County, Alabama on October 11, 1926 to the late, William and Maudie (Gober) Curtis. He served his country proudly in the United States Army. On September 25, 1949 in Covington, Kentucky he married his wife, Lorraine (Williams) Curtis and together the couple celebrated 70 years of marriage before Lorraine’s passing in February of 2020. The couple moved to the Lewiston area in 1975. Ed was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Gaylord. He loved woodworking, golfing when he was able, fishing trips to Canada, and camping with Lorraine and his family. He will be greatly missed.
Ed is survived by his children, Delores (Tom) Killgore of Counce, Tennessee; Pat (Dave) Courterier of Tavares, Florida; Neal Curtis of Ocala, Florida; seven grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sisters, Ivadean Massey of Alabama; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Maudie Curtis; wife, Lorraine; son, Eddy; sister, Verlean; brothers, Hubert and Cecil; granddaughter, Susie; and brother-in-law, Roy.
A graveside service will be held in celebration of Ed’s life at Albert Township Cemetery, Lewiston at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 14, 2022.
