Dale Neff, a cherished individual known for their kind, loving, adventurous and unique personality, left us on September 24, 2024. Born on April 25, 1953, Dale lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards his community. Dale was known as a pillar in his community, constantly giving to others even when he had nothing.

Dale’s life was full of adventures. He worked at a circus, where he was stepped on by an elephant. He was a Marionette. He joined the US Army. Dale was a county commissioner for Mio, Michigan. He worked for 40 years at HB Carbide as a tool and dye cutter. In his free time, he started several side businesses and began to share his passion of collecting with the community by opening thrift stores. Dale was an excellent builder. He would pride his woodwork skills with cutting and finishing his own building products. Even in his busy schedule he found time to take care of his deceased mother and to get out on the lake and catch some fish.

Dale is survived by his three children and 13 grandchildren: Chas (Amanda) Neff, Caleb (Laken) Neff, and Catrina (John Kennedy) Neff; former wife, Alice High (McDowell) who even not being together managed to show their children one of the greatest forms of compassion. Dale was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Neff; father, Andrew Smith; adoptive father, Richard Neff; two brothers, Rick and Rod Neff; and sister, Candice Neff.

His departure comes as a great shock and a deep wound, and it is gravely felt by his children who love and miss him dearly. Dale’s final resting place will be at a location that is private to his children so they may finally be able to keep him safe.
