Mr. Curtis Elwood Marsee, 71 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at his home on April 29, 2020. He was born in Middlesboro, Kentucky on October 13, 1948 to Herbert and Roma (Heck) Marsee. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. Formerly of Wyandotte, he has resided in Atlanta for the last 21 years. Curtis retired from Great Lakes Steel as a rigger, welder, and mechanic after 30+ years. Aside from his work at Great Lakes Steel, he also built homes. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking, making furniture and working with leather. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved his family deeply, as well as his country.
Curtis is survived by his loving wife, Suzie Marsee of Atlanta; sons, Justin (Sharlayne) Marsee of Atlanta; Eric (Jennifer) Kloock of Florida; Paul Laurle of Tennessee; Dan Laurle of Southgate; daughter, Charity (Dwane) Szymanski of Dearborn; ten grandchildren; mother, Phena Marsee of Corbin, Kentucky; and brother, Chet (Cathy) Marsee of Toledo, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Marsee; and brother, Stanley.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Curtis privately at this time.
