Clyde Varty Clyde Varty, 69, of Lewiston, passed away on June 26, 2006. He was born on August 19, 1936 to John and Cleo (Brown) Varty in Deckerville, MI. Formerly of Port Huron, he lived in Lewiston since 1990. Clyde retired from Consumers Energy in 1989. He loved to fish and woodwork, and he enjoyed the outdoors and the wildlife. Clyde is survived by his sons, Mike Varty of Lewiston, Tom (Johanna) Rowbotham of Atlanta, and Joe (Jill) Varty of Clyde Township, MI; daughters, Wendy (Ocie) Gilbert of Lewiston, Emilie (Larry) Qualmansn and Colleen (Rusty) Hurren of St. Helen, MI; 26 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Linda) Varty and Jim (Joy) Varty, both of St. Clair, MI; sister, Doris Currier of St. Clair; sisters-in-law, Ann (Duane) Ackerman of Unionville, MI, Jackie (Neil) Bowman of Port Huron, MI and Jan (Jason) Rowbotham of Chicago, IL; and mother of his daughters, Judy Quarfoot. Funeral services were held on June 30, 2006 in Lewiston with Pastor Rober Butler officiatig. Interment took place at Albert Township Cemetery.
