Charles A. Stapish Charles A Stapish, 93, of Lewiston, MI passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2007, at Grayling Mercy Hospital. He was born on April 12, 1913 to Benjamin and Mary (Stoner) Stapish in Detroit, MI. He married the former Kathleen Culhane in 1934 in Chelsea, MI. He has lived in Lewiston for the past 32 yrs, he was formerly of Chelsea, MI, where he retired from farming and as a machinist at Federal Screw in Chelsea. He is a member of St Francis Catholic Church in Lewiston and was a past member of St Mary's Catholic Church in Chelsea. Charles was a charter member of the Knights of Columbus in Chelsea. He enjoyed painting and traveling. Charles is survived by his wife of 72 yrs, Kathleen of Lewiston, MI; sons, Charles (Jeanne) Stapish of Chelsea, MI, and Benjamin (Barbara) Stapish of Hastings, MI; daughters, Mary Kay Stapish of Lewiston, MI, and Ruth Ann Musbach of Chelsea, MI; 9 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 7 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Matthew and a sister, Josephine. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2007 at 11:00 AM at St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Lewiston, MI, Fr James VonTobel officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Friday from 5-8 PM.
