Charles Frederic Benac, Jr. Mr. Charles Frederic Benac, Jr., 79 of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully on the early morning of December 24, 2016 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Alpena. He was born in Hillman Township on August 5, 1937 the son of the late, Charles and Fidelis (Dice) Benac Sr. On May 15, 1965 he married his wife, Carol (Bergey) Benac and together the couple celebrated 51 years of marriage before his passing. Charles lived in Hillman his entire life and owned and operated a dairy farm for many years going on to raise black Angus beef cattle for years after. He worked as the cemetery sexton for both Hillman Rust Township Cemetery and St. Augustine Catholic Cemetery for many years. He loved to farm, enjoyed gardening, flowers, and anything that involved being outdoors on the tractor or around the farm. Above everything, he enjoyed the time he spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren who were his joy. Charles will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife Carol Benac of Hillman; son, Terry (Kim) Arts of Lachine; daughters, Angela (Al) Standen; Connie (Al) Miller; Nicole (Kevin) Hawley all of Lachine; fifteen grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; brother, David (Judy) Benac of South Dakota; sisters, Margaret (Calvin) Barton of Lachine; Bonnie (Roger) Frye; Linda Benac; Mary (Harry) Davis; and Theresa Klein all of Hillman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Fidelis Benac; son, Roger Carpenter Jr; daughter, Cindy Hickey; brothers, Raymond Benac; Bill Benac; Kenneth Benac; Jim Benac; and sister, Susie Benac. As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there are currently no services scheduled for Mr. Benac. Interment will take place in the Spring.
