Carrie Wiseley

September 21, 1959 — August 1, 2015

Carrie Linn Wiseley Mrs. Carrie Linn Wiseley, 55, of Hillman, MI, passed on August 1, 2015, battling cancer, at her home where love, laughter, and friendship were always welcome. Carrie was born on September 21, 1959 in Alpena, MI, to Murville and Caroline (Peto) Douglas. She married her soul mate, John Joseph Wiseley on October 21, 1989 in Pinckney, MI. They resided there for 11 years before moving to Hillman, where they and their son, Ryan, found oneness with family, friends, and community. Carrie worked as an inspector at Woodbridge Manufacturing before moving to Hillman, where she realized God's gift and planted many seeds through teaching at Hillman Elementary School and as a caregiver at MediLodge of Hillman. She loved life and gave from the heart. Mother earth was good to her, she enjoyed her vegetable garden, flowers adorned her home, and her artistic ability to use birch bark to create picture frames and baskets with antlers. Her sister, Vicky and her created the most beautiful hanging holiday balls in November, which brought joy to many throughout the holiday season. The outdoors was home to her, she enjoyed pontooning on Long Lake in Hillman, and loved her trips to Taquamenon Falls. Family and friends enjoyed a 5 o'clock anywhere with her. Carrie is survived by her husband, John; son, Ryan of Rogers City, MI; mother, Caroline Douglas of Herron, MI; sisters, Elaine (Arlie) Manning of Wallace, MI, Barbara (Mike) Utley of Atlanta, MI, and Vicky Lynn (Irvin) Timm of Herron; brothers, Kenneth (Judy) Douglas of Tawas, MI, John (Jean) Douglas of Herron, MI, Glen (Paula) Douglas of Alpena, and Allen (Judy) Douglas of Alpena. She was preceded in death by her father, Murville Douglas; brother and sister in law, Gerald "Jake" and Mabel; sister, Sandra Lee; and sister in laws, Theresa and Lois. Cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial service held for Mrs. Wiseley at 1:00PM on Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Hillman United Methodist Church; Pastor Lisa Kelley officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Thursday from 5-8 PM and again on Friday from 12:00 PM until time of service at the church.
