Carolyn Sue McElhinney Mrs. Carolyn Sue McElhinney, 53, of Alpena, MI, died peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on the afternoon of November 27, 2016. She was born to the late, Orla and Eleanor (Finley) McElhinney in Vineland, New Jersey on November 14, 1963. She moved to Alpena within the last three months having spent most of her life in the Hillman area. Carolyn worked as a bookkeeper in various businesses over the years. She went on to take care of her mother at home for the past five years before her passing in August. When she wasn't working she enjoyed crocheting and crafting, including plastic canvas and beadwork. She was also an avid reader, some of her favorite authors being Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and Anne Rice. Carolyn valued the time she spent with family and she will be dearly missed. She is survived by her sons, Shaun Chambers of Alpena and Alex Chambers of Superior, Wisconsin; daughter, Ann (Jeff Wellsted) Chambers of Alpena; grandchildren, Brooklann, Ayrebella, and Maryssa; brothers, Robert McElhinney of Gogebic, Lyle (Joan) McElhinney of Beaverton, Oregon, and Tom McElhinney of Hillman; sisters, Juanita (Richard) Lucius of North Branch and Geraldine (Carl) Litchfield of Kingsley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Orla and Eleanor McElhinney; and brother, David McElhinney. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there are currently no services scheduled for Mrs. McElhinney at this time.
