Carole Jean Lownds Mrs. Carole Jean Lownds, born December 12,1919 to Frank and Vera Shearman, passed away on August 8, 2014 in Grayling, Michigan. Carole kept the books for her husband, Norman who was a Standard Oil agent in Rochester. They retired in Lewiston in 1977, where they vacationed a lot with the Renders. Her one and only love Norman passed away in 1988. She was very active in the Lioness Club where she was a charter member. She had also been a member of the Garden Club, Lewiston Congregational Church, lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW, and a former Red Garter girl. She is survived by daughters, Norma (Bill) Deneen of Texas; Janet (Carston) Christenson of Florida; Linda Richard of Shelby Township; and one son, Phillip Lownds of Lewiston who took care of his mother for years and was so good to her. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial held in celebration of her life at 11:00AM on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 at the Lewiston United Congregational Church of Christ; Lewiston, Michigan; Pastor Dave Engle officiating. Visitation will take place from 10:00AM until time of service.
