Carol Benedict

Carol Jean Benedict Carol Jean Benedict, 85, of Lewiston, formerly of Farmington, MI, passed away on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. She was born on May 17, 1923 to Harry and Mabel (Woodard) Gartrell in Howell, MI. She married Robert Benedict on May 10, 1947. Carol worked for Farmington Public Schools for 15 yrs as a secretary. She was an active member at the Lewiston United Church of Christ, and also a member of the Mayflower United Congregational Church in Naples, FL. She was a member of the Eastern Star of Atlanta and Lewiston. Carol was always active in her community over the years. She loved her family and enjoyed having visitors up north. Carol is survived by her husband, Robert of Lewiston, MI; three daughters, Nancy (Tom) Holka of Harbor Springs, MI, Carolyn Roth of Naples, FL, and Mary Ann (Scott) McCaul of Saginaw, MI; son, Paul (Leslie) Benedict of Highland, MI; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandson. Funeral services for Mrs Benedict will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 at the Lewiston United Church of Christ at 11:00 AM, Pastor Toby Stadden officiating. Interement will take place at Albert Twp Cemetery. Visitation hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-8 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Lewiston. The family has suggested memorials to the Lewiston United Church of Christ or to the Parkinson's Foundation.
