Carl Schrader

Carl Eugene Schrader Carl Eugene Schrader, 83, of Atlanta, MI, formerly of Port Huron, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. He was born on November 12, 1927 to Fred and Kittie (Yale) Schrader in Port Huron. He married the former Vivian Vigrass on March 29, 1945. He worked as a plumber and pipe fitter for many years, for Dudica Brothers Plumbing and Heating and also for Bechtle Corporation after. He has vacationed in the Atlanta area since 1978, and moved here permanently in 1985. He enjoyed deer hunting, and was an avid card player, especially loved euchre. Carl is survived by his sons, Michael (Becky) of Sterling Heights, MI, Mark (Laura) of Lewiston, MI, and Jeffrey (Terri) of Fort Gratiot, MI; daughters, Virginia (John) Ganhs of Atlanta, MI, and Mary (Jim) Bucowski of Port Huron, MI; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother, Harold (Romana Bice) Schrader of Port Huron; and a sister in law, Dorothy Vigrass of Fort Gratiot, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, and a son, David. Funeral services for Mr Schrader will be held on Saturday, March 12, 2011, at 11:00 AM at the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home, Port Huron, MI, Pastor David Caswell officiating. Visitation hours will be held on Friday at the Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home from 2-5 PM and 7-9 PM. Interment will take place at Avery Twp Cemetery, Atlanta, MI, in the Spring.
