Bruce Gene Simonye Mr. Bruce Gene Simonye, 57 of Lachine, Michigan passed away on December 22, 2013 at Alpena Regional Medical Center. He was born in Lapeer, Michigan, the son of Richard and Norma (Running) Simonye on September 6, 1956. He married wife, Bette (Paul) Simonye on April 22, 1983 in Cimarron, Kansas and together they celebrated thirty years of marriage. The couple moved to Lachine in 1986. Bruce was an auto mechanic for many years at Burns/Pickle in Cimmaron, Kansas and also worked for some time at the Ford garage in Hillman. He owned and operated The Butcher Shop in Posen for 12 years until 2011. He enjoyed being outdoors and liked camping, fishing, and mushroom picking. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his loving wife, Bette Simonye of Lachine; son, Tyler Simonye of Elmira; brother, Scott Simonye of Hawaii; sister, Laura (Bill) Baker of Alabama; mother, Norma Simonye of Alabama; father-in-law, George Paul of Hillman; brothers-in-law, Ron (Diana) Paul of Atlanta; Jim Paul of Hillman; Bill Briley of Alpena; sisters-in-law, Patti Briley of Alpena; Mary (Mark) Peplinski of Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Simonye; and mother-in-law, Donna Coleman-Potter. As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and there are no services planned for Mr. Simonye at this time.
