Brian MacInnes Mitchell Mr. Brian MacInnes Mitchell, 77 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at his home surrounded by family on September 14, 2017. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 22, 1939 to the late, James and Mildred (Davis) Mitchell. He married his wife, Phyllis (Richardson) Mitchell on August 31, 1962 in Berkley, Michigan and together they celebrated 55 years of marriage before his passing. Brian has resided in Atlanta for the last twelve years owning property here since 1984. Formerly of Royal Oak, Brian retired as a mechanical engineer after 40 years of working for various companies. He also owned and operated MI Engineering and Mitchell Industries. He loved working on his own home, but aside from work, he enjoyed being outdoors and going out on the lake. He owned boats on Lake St. Clair for many years. Brian enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was known as the "life of the party." Above everything, he enjoyed time socializing with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Mitchell of Atlanta; sons, Brian (Jennifer) Mitchell of Almont; Todd (Janice) Mitchell of Novi; daughter, Heather (Glenn) Ather of Royal Oak; eleven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and sister, Sheila (Ken) Schweinsberg of Flint. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mildred Mitchell; and brother, Ronald. As were his wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a memorial gathering held in celebration of Mr. Mitchell's life at 4:00 PM on Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Heather's home at 1619 Ottawa Drive, Royal Oak. Michigan.
