Bonnie Mae Forster Mrs. Bonnie Mae Forster, 92 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully surrounded by family on February 18, 2019 at her home. She was born in Detroit, Michigan on July 16, 1926 to the late, Alfred and Beulah (Childs) Schad. Formerly of Livonia, Bonnie has resided in Atlanta since 1974 having a cabin here since 1960. While living in Livonia she worked at St. Francis Hospital as an EKG technician and also served as a secretary in the war department in Detroit and at the Pentagon. She was a member of the Atlanta Congregational Church in which she remained very active over the years. She was past member of the Red Hatters and did volunteer work for charities including the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society. Bonnie was an avid reader and loved a good mystery novel. She was always sure to get in her exercise sometimes doing laps about the house with her walker. She was very up-to-date with the latest technology and enjoyed her headphones, Ipad, fitbit and texting with her grandchildren. Bonnie was an exceptional human being. She was a kind, empathetic and compassionate individual. Bonnie was tolerant and accepting of all people and their differences. She never assumed but always questioned. She loved to laugh and bake blueberry pie. Above everything, she adored her time with family and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her sons, Tom Heyman (Barbara Kramer) of Sharon, Massachusetts; Mark Forster of Holly; daughters, Peggy (Scott) Heyman-Peterson of Rockford, Illinois; Susan (Fred) Kleintjes of Algonac; daughter-in-law, Els Forster of Lake Orion; grandchildren, Leah, Zachary, Chelsea, Kailin, Alex, Sabrina, and Emma; brother, Ted Schad of East Lansing; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Beulah Schad; husband, Raymond; brothers, Pete and Dale; and sister, Prudie Trimboli.
As were her wishes cremation has taken place. The family has chosen to remember Bonnie privately at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested donations to McLaren Hospice of Alpena or the Atlanta Congregational Church of Christ.
