Billie Joe Burling Mr. Billie Joe Burling, 82 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully on June 21, 2017 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. He was born to the late, Cyril and Helen (Howlett) Burling on February 16, 1935 in Pontiac. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. While living in Waterford he served on the Oakland County Sheriff's Mounted Division. Billie was very active with the Tri-Township Fire Department until his retirement in 2015. He was the past assistant chief, a member of the board, and worked as both an EMT and fireman. Billie was also a member of both the Atlanta Eagles Post #4077 and the Lewiston Moose Club #2495. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cyril and Helen Burling; wife, Martha Burling; daughter, Annette Burling; and son-in-law, Ed. As were his wishes cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service held for Mr. Burling at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at Loud Township Cemetery; McIntire Rd, Comins. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be sent to the Burling family to provide oxygen masks for rescued pets for use by local fire departments.
