Mrs. Bilinda “Billie” June Jones, 58, of Hillman, Michigan died peacefully in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loved ones on June 11, 2024. She was born in Saginaw, Michigan on November 12, 1965 to the late William and Deloris “Kate” (Jones) Dice. Billie spent most of her life in Hillman although she had many adventures in life that took her all over the United States. She loved dancing, gardening, and shooting pool. She was a strong woman that could do anything a man could do and she loved to do woodworking with her former husband, Dale Scripter. She was four foot tall and bulletproof and what her daughter referred to her as “her firecracker.” To her grandchildren and the kids in the neighborhood she was known simply as “nana banana.” She loved people and socializing but one of her biggest enjoyments included riding her motorcycle. Above everything in her life, Billie put her grandchildren and family first. She is and will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her children, Leafa (Chris Stainsby) Wroblewski of Hillman; Cody Crane of Hillman; grandchildren, Ransom Stainsby, Ayden Crane, and Ava Crane; siblings, Wyvern Jones of Gaylord; John (Debbie) Blanzy of Illinois; Jeff (Jennifer) Blanzy of Gaylord; Melody (Andres) Chapa of Atlanta; Wendi (Bubba) Ferris of Lewiston; Billy (Lisa Cote) DePue of Vermont; stepmother, Terry Dice of Atlanta; loving companion, Joe Saddler of Hillman; and best friend, Shirley Palmer. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Deloris “Kate” (Jones) Dice; and grandparents, Wyvern and Leafa Jones.
A celebration of life will be held from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the VFW Post 2356 in Hillman on Saturday, July 13, 2024 in honor of Billie. Friends and family will gather at Hillman Rust Township Cemetery to lay Billie to rest at 12:30 PM followed by a luncheon at the VFW.
