Beverly Lacrosse

Mrs. Beverly Frances LaCrosse, 82 of Atlanta, Michigan died peacefully at her home surrounded by the love of her family on January 12, 2022. She was born in Weymouth, Massachusetts on August 17, 1939 to the late, Robert and Helen (Nelson) Whitmarsh.

Beverly met her husband, Bill, when she was working at the candy counter of their local movie theater.  He frequented the theater to see his favorite girl, who would give him free popcorn.  They were married in Portsmouth, New Hampshire on September 21, 1957 and together the couple celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Beverly, at a young age, loved to read the Bible and developed a deep appreciation for its message. She shared this love with her family and with all who she came in contact.

Beverly was a hard and diligent worker, working in local schools and assisting her husband with his business as his office manager. She enjoyed traveling—especially when it was to  visit family. It gave her pleasure to surprise her children and grandchildren with gifts when they visited.  To that end, she enjoyed knitting scarves, crocheting afghans, and quilting blankets for them. Her grandchildren have fond memories of the pancake breakfasts prepared by Nana.

Beverly was kind-hearted and would do anything to assist someone in need. She took the initiative to reach out to others—bringing them a loaf of her banana bread, preparing meals, or simply providing a word of encouragement. Her thoughtful generosity and love will always be remembered.

Beverly is survived by her loving husband, William LaCrosse of Atlanta; sons, William (Joyce) LaCrosse of San Leandro, California; Robert LaCrosse of Atlanta, Michigan; Blair (Michelle) LaCrosse of Flint, Michigan; daughters, Beth Pacza of Westland, Michigan; Breanna (Tel) Bushong of Atlanta, Michigan; grandchildren, Kristopher, Sara, Billy, Marissa, Aimee, Barak, Brenna, Holley, Zachrey, Kyler, Mekenna, and Brooklyn; great-grandchildren, Nicole, Kody, Keith, Rayla, and Nellie; sisters, Judy (Gary) Holbrook, Pat Weber, Linda Kinsey; brother, Scott Whitmarsh. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen Bauer; step-father, Francis Bauer; father, Robert Whitmarsh; and brother, Larry Whitmarsh.

A private memorial service will be held for family and friends.
