Bette Mae Mehalko Bette Mae Mehalko, 80, of Lewiston, MI, passed away at her residence on Monday, June 25, 2012. She was born on February 4, 1932 to Frank and Emma (Hagdues) Malek in Twin Rocks, PA. She married Charles Mehalko on January 9, 1954 in Toledo, OH. Bette owned and operated Bette's Arborette, a flower and gift shop fover 10 years. She was very crafty, she liked sewing, quilting, and woodcrafting, and also enjoyed making and teaching ceramics as well. She was very handy, she even built her own stone fireplace in her house. She enjoyed being outside and was an avid gardener. Bette is survived by her son Mark (Lori) Mehalko of Grand Blanc, MI; daughters, Karen (Tim) Maguire of Allen Park, MI, Catherine Figliomeni of Toledo, OH, and Cynthia (Thomas) Myers of Wyandotte, MI; grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Amanda, Molly, Christina, Chelsea, Caralynn, Emily and Alison; great grandchildren, Hannah and May, with one on the way, Luke; brother, Fred (Wendy) Malek of Wyandoote, MI; and sisters, Katherine Mehalko of Erie, PA and Sylvia Kozorosky of Westland, MI. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Mehalko. As were her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Green Funeral Home, Lewiston.
