Bernice Swathell

Bernice Florence Swathell Mrs. Bernice Florence Swathell, 97 of Atlanta, MI passed away at AuSable Valley Community Home on May 6, 2012. She was born on January 3, 1915 to Floyd and Effie (Truesdell) Roe in Detroit, MI. Bernice was an LPN and retired from Wayne County General Hospital in 1974 after thirty-five years. She was a caregiver most of her life and was a lifetime member of the Rebekah Lodge and state extension service. Her greatest pleasure was being "Nana" to her grandchildren. She is survived by daughter, Marilyn (Bob) Sheldon of Lewiston; son, Howard (Joann) Swathell of Westland; grandsons, Kenneth (Maria) McGuire; Gary (Brenda) Swathell; Gregory Swathell; granddaughters, Denene (Tom) McGuire; Tracy (Michael) Bangs; Wendy Sheldon; Tammy Correa; great-grandsons, Christopher (Jess) McGuire; Shawn (Virginia) McGuire; Tyler Bangs; Jeremiah (Lindsey) Swathell; Joshua (Bre) Swathell; great-granddaughters, Nicole Radke; Kristi Radke; and the light of her life, Riley McGuire; great-great grandson, Justin Swathell; great-great-granddaughters, Teaghan McGuire and Mariah Swathell. She was preceded in death by husband, Lewis Swathell and siblings, Catherine Simmons; James Robbins; Edna Gouin; and Glenn Roe. Funeral services for Mrs. Swathell will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Avery Twp Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mrs. Swathell will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at the Green Funeral Home, Atlanta, MI. Visitation will be held on Thursday, from 5-8 PM. Interment will take place at Avery Twp Cemetery.
